Bombardment Vessel
The Bombardment Vessel is a type of spaceship operated by the Imperial Navy.[1]
Description
Designed for orbital bombardment, the Bombardment Vessel locks onto ground beacons and conducts a firing mission. For example, during the 13th Black Crusade two Bombardment Vessel conducted a 45 second bombardment at Laurentix, releasing 22,000 tons of ordnance, composed of 90 percent standard barrage bombs and 10 percent melta torpedos to target enemy titans. The successful bombardment destroyed two titans, 500,000 enemy units and damaged five more titans at a cost of only 50,000 friendlies.[1]
