Crimson Walkers
The Crimson Walkers were a cabal of psykers, gene-splicers, and warlords who served the last great tyrants of the Age of Strife on Terra[1] as viziers and advisers, creating machines and gene-mutilated monsters for their masters.[2]
History
The Crimson Walkers served many of the infamous monarchs of Old Night who were cast down by the Emperor of Mankind during the Unification Wars. While many were hunted down and exterminated, a group of survivors gathered in the canyon city of Vhnori and planned to retake what the Emperor had taken from them. They built the city into their fortress, returning flesh forges, the blood harvest, and the half-dead to Terra for the first time in years. The people of Vhnori followed them like loyal beasts, or became fuel for the Crimson Walkers' arts. When news reached the Emperor, He sent the Eighth Legion, who defeated the Vhnori Resurgence and cast the Crimson Walkers into the chasm below.[1]
The Crimson Walkers were believed to have been exterminated, but at least one, Incarnus, is known to have survived by pledging to serve the Alpha Legion. Possibly the last of his kind, Incarnus died in the Battle of Pluto.[2]
