Destrier-pattern Heavy Carrier
The Destrier-pattern Heavy Carrier is a type of aircraft used by the Imperium to transport personnel.[1] It is crewed by Departmento Munitorum personnel.[2a]
Description
The Destrier is three times the size of a Valkyrie[2a] and weighs eighty tonnes.[2b] The bulky vehicle has engines that turn during take-off manoeuvres. It is boardable by side-hatch, granting access to a bare metal hold, where passengers can seat themselves down on small, wall-mounted strap-downs.[1] The Destrier also has a hydraulic-operated cargo-maw[2b] and several UHF antennae.[2c] It can carry a dozen cargo pallets, each with twenty fluid drums,[2a] or ammunition.[2b]
While the Destrier can take several heavy heavy and thousands of light hits, it is easily shot down by a surface-to-air missile, crashing into the ground and sliding along until stopped by a heavy object.[2b]
