Ghota, flanked by two hive gangers.[1]

Ghota was a Thunder Warrior who served during the Unification Wars. Surviving into the Horus Heresy he would kill a Space Marine to help ensure the survival of the Thunder Warriors from their genetic defects.[1]

History

Ghota participated in the great war that united humanity on Terra, fighting alongside the legendary Arik Taranis. When the Emperor of Mankind began to purge the Thunder Warriors, he along with Taranis managed to survive, hiding amongst the hive cities of Terra and forging new lives as criminal overlords.[1]

Facing the Outcast Dead

Ghota was later tasked by Arik Taranis to hunt down a renegade group of Space Marines called the Outcast Dead. Locating them in an area called Crow's Court. One of the Astartes, Atharva of the Thousand Sons, attempted to psychically attack Ghota's mind, but was repelled by Ghota's crude, but brutal and effect mental psychic defenses. The Astartes then engaged Ghota and his forces. During the fight, Ghota attacked one of the Astartes named Tagore, with a massive iron hammer. The first blow driving Tagore to his knees, the second impacting his side and knocking him off his feet completely. The Astartes: Atharva, Argentus Kiron, Subha, and Asubha would then attack Ghota at once. Subha and Asubha engaging Ghota in melee combat, their power swords against his hammer. Ghota would smash Subha's jaw with a his elbow, causing the Astartes to drop his sword. Kiron fired his plasma gun at Ghota's head, but Ghota's enhanced reflexes allowed him to simply step aside and dodge the lethal plasma bolt completely. Ghota then deflected a strike from Asubha's sword, before punching the Astartes in his face several times, stunning him. Bringing his hammer to bear, Ghota made to kill the Astartes, but Atharva attacked with psychic fire and ignited Ghota's cloak, distracting the Thunder Warrior and forcing him to tear the burning cloth off. Kiron then charged forward at Ghota, retrieved Subha's sword, and engaged the Thunder Warrior in a melee duel. Kiron managed to eventually stab Ghota's shoulder through a gap in his armour, but the Thunder Warrior only grunted at the wound. Ghota gained the upper-hand by slamming his shoulder into Kiron, grabbing him by his neck, and shattering his skull with a brutal headbutt, before dropping him to the ground. Before Kiron could regain his feet, Ghota swung his hammer an overhead arc and brought it down on Kiron's shoulder-guard with nearly impossible force. The blow shattered Kiron's shoulder, arm, and ribs; smashing him to the ground in agony and mortally wounding the Astartes. Ghota swung his hammer again to completely crush Kiron's skull, but the strike was stopped by another of the Astartes, Gythua, who grabbed the hammer, before punching Ghota hard enough to drive him off. Ghota prepared to fight this new challenger, but realized that his gang members had all been slain. Reining in his bloodlust, Ghota shouldered his hammer, spat on the ground, and simply walked away from the battlefield. The Outcast Dead watching him depart without attempting to stop him.[1]
