Morpheum Sector
The Morpheum Sector is a sector of Imperial space located in the Segmentum Pacificus. It was invaded by the Tyranids of Hive Fleet Leviathan during the Fourth Tyrannic War.[1]
History
In the Age of the Dark Imperium, twelve systems in the Morpheum Sector were engulfed by a Warp Storm designated Gogmagor. This held the attention of Sector Command, and so, distracted by the crisis, Imperial officials failed to notice the signs of another - a number of astropathic beacons at the rimward edges of the Morpheum and Asmodiox sectors were going dark one after another.[1]
Things came to a head (somewhat literally) after a barrage of delayed distress calls were received all at one by High Astropath Guideoth. This overloaded the Astropath's mind and manifested a psychic construct which went on a rampage, slaughtering half of Sector Command before it was banished.[1]
Imperial authorities eventually realised that these events were caused by the incursion of a tendril of the Tyranid Hive Fleet Leviathan. This spur, designated Promethor, had attacked Morpheum from beneath the galactic plane, reaching into the Cassidor Gulf on course towards the Segmentum Solar.[1]
