Super-Siege Gun
Super-Siege Guns[1b] are rail-mounted[1c] gigantic artillery guns used by both the Imperium and the forces of Chaos.[1a]
Description
Super-Siege Guns are each individually mounted on huge railcars with massive barrels the size of manufactory chimneys. They are crewed by gun-crews who operate automatic arming mechanisms that incorporate electric hoists and flatbed loading carts pulled by shunting engines. Super-Siege Guns also have huge shock-absorber pylons.[1d]
Super-Siege Guns are moved on double-line, wide-gauge railways, connecting one firing positions to the next. Multiple Super-Siege Guns can be positioned next to each other at a firing position, the railway dividing itself into multiple spurs. The railway itself is connected to service, sidings and ammunition lines.[1d]
Being individually taller than a person,[1d] the super-heavy long-range shells fired by the Super-Siege Guns create titanic impacts.[1a] Theses impacts are even felt by persons situated in tunnels between eight and twelve metres underground under solid earth. A direct hit is even capable of caving in or collapsing these tunnels.[1c] After firing for a long time, the barrels get hot and have to cool down.[1d]
The muzzle flashes produced by the Super-Siege Guns can sear eyesight by leaving an afterimage and the accompanying pulse-shockwaves short out vox-links while feeling like they can explode eardrums.[1d]
