Singularly amongst the Blood Angels’ successors, the Angels Vermillion shun all contact with their brother Chapters, choosing to bear their curse in solitude and isolation.
The Angels Vermillion arrive to battle the Death Guard on a doomed Imperial planet, but as their apparent salvation arrives, this may not be the fate the defenders had hoped for.
Varis Ulker, a veteran of the Astra Militarum, leads part of an Imperial defence overrun by the corrupt and indefatigable Death Guard. He prays for salvation, and as defeat seems imminent, he is rewarded by the arrival of a force of Angels Vermillion Space Marines. But just what is the price of this salvation?
