Toholk, also known as Toholk the Blinded was a famed Necron Cryptek known to be a master-artificer of war machines. One of his last inventions was the dreaded Tomb Sentinel, a variant of the Tomb Stalker.[1]

Overview

The Arch-Cryptek of the Maynarkh Dynasty, Toholk is a being of diabolical ingenuity whose designs were distributed by the Triarch to other Dynasties in order to fight the War in Heaven. However Toholk's hybris made him many enemies among rival Crypteks and the lords of the Maynarkh Dynasty royal court, who had become jealous of his fame. Toholk survived many assassination attempts against him, preferring to trap his would-be murderers in hyperphase prison matrices for later experimentation.[2]

Following the fall of the Old Ones, Toholk became even more disconnected from reality and shifted his own research into the field of Chronomancy, becoming obsessed with the intricacies of cause and effect. It is said that he even fantasized of destroying time itself. His Maynarkh masters however pushed him to staying on the path of conventional weapons designs, torturing him barbarically when he refused to do their bidding. When this failed to sway him, the Maynarkh lords installed Mindshackle Scarabs to Toholk. The Scarabs combined with his own obsessive compulsions has since shattered Toholk's mind, but this has nonetheless not prevented completion of his greatest work: a temporal prediction engine he calls the Smoking Mirror. The Smoking Mirror has served the Maynarkh well during their conquests, but the Maynarkh Lords can never guess as to what Toholk's true intentions with his invention are.[2]
