War for Luminous
The War for Luminous began when, after hundreds of years of living on the harsh Agri World, its workers rebelled against the ruling elite of the planet Luminous.[1]
At first it was thought that the rebels would be easily defeated by the elites, but they had devoted themselves to the worship of the Chaos Gods and outmatched any force sent against them. Even after several crack Astra Militarum Regiments were sent to crush them, the rebels gained the upper hand and began to overwhelm the Regiments. The Regiments' command was soon isolated on the Lutogen flats, where they were trapped between Luminous' sea and the rebels, who let loose artillery fire upon them from a nearby high ridge. The attack would have wiped out the Regiments' command, had the Dark Angels Chapter's 3rd Company not suddenly arrived, after being dispatched to turn the the War for Luminous in the Imperium's favour once more. They quickly did so, after not only destroying the rebels with the artillery, but also tracking down and killing the rebellion's leadership as well. The Dark Angels then departed Luminous after their successful attacks and left the now disordered rebels for the surviving Astra Militarum Guardsmen to destroy.[1]
