Yeselti

The Yeselti were the ancient Terran royal house of the nation Boeotia, who resisted the rule of the Emperor during the Unification Wars and the Great Crusade.[1]

History

Though the Emperor had declared the Unification Wars to be over and had begun the Great Crusade, the Yeselti were among the Terran holdout groups that still refused to end their independence and join the Imperium. The royal house did not use violence, however, and instead negotiated and connived their way around all of the Imperium's diplomatic efforts for them to accept the Emperor's rule. In the wake of the Unification Wars, the Imperium sought to bring an end to these holdout groups without violence as well and so the Emperor showed extraordinary patience when dealing with the Yeselti's independence. For while the royal house refused His authority, the Yeselti were not considered to be tyrants or despots and simply wished to retain their autonomous existence. Because of this, the Emperor gave the Yeselti a hundred and fifty years to come to terms with the fact that they had no choice in the matter and would join the Imperium.[1]

When they still refused to end their independence, though, the Emperor's mercy came to an end as well and He sent the Imperial Army against the royal house. This began the Boeotian Conflict and Commander Selud was charged with arresting the Yeselti and annexing Boeotia's territory for the Imperium. However the royal house resisted and Selud was relived of his duties six weeks into the conflict, after the nation's refinery fields were allowed to be set aflame. Afterwards, the Imperium sought to quickly end the conflict and the Thousand Sons Legion were given full command over the war. This marked the end for the Yeselti's independence, as their forces were later defeated and the Imperium ensured the royal house's bloodline was fully extinguished. With their destruction, Boeotia's independence finally came to an end and the nation was claimed by the Imperium.[1]
