The Fire Wasp is an Adeptus Mechanicus-produced^[2] drone used by the Space Marines since the times of the Great Crusade. Usually sent before a boarding action, they are designed to trigger any traps, mines or other surprises laid by the enemy and clear the path to the Marines' main objective.^[1]

They are extremely robust and posses an inbuilt Flamer, Close Combat Weapon and a Searchlight Illuminator.^[1]

In the Jericho Reach they are used by Deathwatch Kill-Teams, when they are boarding a Space Hulk or Tau spacecraft.^[1]
