Index Bearers
The Index Bearers are a group of Imperials, who carry the massive copy of Lord Commander Guilliman's Index Astartes, during ceremonies.[1]
History
They accompany the Recorder of the Rolls during such times, as the Recorder is charged with writing down the Lord Commander's words. Besides the Index Astartes itself, the Bearers also carry a large stand to hold it, as well as a small table to put the Recorder's needed bottles of ink and numerous pens on. The Recorder will then cast a critical eye over everything's placement and if it meets with their approval, the Bearers will reverently open the Index to a blank page. When all is ready, the Recorder will signal to Lord Commander Guilliman that they are ready, to record his words. Once the ceremony is over, the Index Bearers will carry the Index and everything else away, until it is needed again. The Recorder of the Rolls and the Index Bearers also conducted their duties, over the course of the Indomitus Crusade and were stationed within Guilliman's Indomitus Crusade Fleet Primus.[1]
