Magic: The Gathering's Universes Beyond Warhammer 40,000
|
Magic: The Gathering's Universes Beyond Warhammer 40,000 was a collaboration between the two iconic tabletop titans, Warhammer 40,000 and Magic: The Gathering.[1] It included the release of four decks for the Commander format of Magic: the Gathering, and one 'Secret Lair' drop featuring cards not included in any of the decks. Both releases bring the grimdark lore, iconic art, and warring factions of the Warhammer 40,000 universe into Magic's multiverse.[1]
The set included 168 new cards, organized into four decks[1]:
Deck Name | Colors | Face Commander |
---|---|---|
Tyranid Swarm | green-blue-red | The Swarmlord |
Forces of the Imperium | white-blue-black | Inquisitor Greyfax |
Necron Dynasties | black | Szarekh the Silent King |
The Ruinous Powers | blue-black-red | Abbadon the Despoiler |
The Secret Lair drop, SECRET LAIR X WARHAMMER 40,000: ORKS featured an set of reprinted cards with alternate names and art thematic to the Orks of Warhammer 40,000.[2]
Note
Two additional sets of cards would be released in Warhammer 'Secret Lair' drops, along with SECRET LAIR X WARHAMMER 40,000: ORKS, both of which would feature cards from other Games Worshop IP, including Blood Bowl and Age of Sigmar[2]
