The Black Lion is a Fallen Angel Daemon Prince, who took part in the Horus Heresy and now rules the world New Caliban.^[1]

History

He has gathered a sizeable army there, composed of Daemon Engines, the Chaos Knight Yvain and his fellow Fallen Angels, including Cypher. However while some of the Fallen there serve the Chaos Gods, as the Black Lion does, others do not and remain uncorrupted. In reality, the Daemon Prince's army is really only united by the Fallen's half-remembered brotherhood, and due to their necessity. Also when the Black Lion goes to war, he is accompanied by a lion like beast and one of the Watchers in the Dark.^[1]

• The Black Lion, his army and New Caliban were created by the Games Workshop employee Eddie. They were featured in a Warhammer Community article.^[1]
• In Codex: Dark Angels (8th Edition) it is stated that the Dark Angels invaded New Caliban and captured the Daemon who ruled it.^[2] However it is not known if this meant to be the same New Caliban that the Black Lion rules over.^[1]
