Cheraut was a Human world which viciously resisted the Imperium in the Great Crusade.[1]
Overview
The war for Cheraut was a long and bitter conflict. It took warriors from five Space Marine Legions (including the Imperial Fists, Night Lords, and Emperor's Children) and millions of Imperial Army troops to pacify the world after a gruelling months of siege. During the conflict, the Night Lords reaped many atrocities upon the populace.[1]
However the war itself was overshadowed by the events which followed its conclusion[1], when Rogal Dorn confronted Konrad Curze about the massacres his Legion had perpetrated and, more importantly, his prophetic visions of the Imperium of Man turning into a nightmare.[2b] The argument escalated, to the point Curze beat Dorn to a pulp[2a] and was arrested[2b]. He escaped custody[2c] and led his Legion to Nostramo[2d], which they utterly destroyed for its renewed corruption before evading pursuit[2e].
