Irtanathep is an ancient Necron world being pulled into a black hole. It is trapped on the cusp of the event horizon of the black hole named Calligan's Maw that used to be the planet's local star.[1]
History
During the War in Heaven, the system's star was collapsed by weapons of near unimaginable power by the enemies of the Necrons. The black hole wasn't created naturally; the star was killed. This is what created the black hole that would be named Calligan's Maw aeons later. The world was of high significance to the Necrons due to it being a pylon control nexus. Archmagos Dominus Belisarius Cawl speculates that it was attacked at some point in order to stop its operation, and in the process the star was destroyed.[1]
Due to the time dilation caused by the gravity, a second lasts an aeon on the world. Irtanathep's inhabitants have been trapped in the moment of their star's destruction for uncounted aeons and will be continue to be trapped in that moment for uncountable more. The pylon network control centre is also still working, untouched by time.[1]
