Pinion Blade
The Pinion Blade is a Space Marine Frigate in the Raven Guard Chapter.[1b]
History
During the Fourth Tyrannic War, it was commanded by the Shadow Captain Sard Gaeron and was among the Imperial forces defending the Bastior Sub-sector. He fought to protect the Stanghalde System[1b], even after Lord Commander Solar Leontus had ordered every one of Bastior's systems save Formidyre, Pyremoat and Kastayl to be abandoned.[1a] This continued even when several of Stranghalde's worlds fell to the Tyranids and the vastly outnumbered Imperials in the System had to resort to waging a guerrilla war. However, this suddenly changed when the frigate's veteran Shipmaster, Uvarin, informed the Shadow Captain that a moon-sized Tyranid craft was in the system. Upon seeing that it was heading towards Formidyre, Gaeron decided to warn the Imperials there before the Tyranid craft invaded it and ordered the Pinion Blade's Navigator, Olgh, to prepare for the warp journey.[1b]
