Sard Gaeron
Sard Gaeron is the current Shadow Captain of the Raven Guard Chapter's 6th Company and the Master of Liberation.[1]
History
He was among the Imperial forces defending the Bastior Sub-sector, when it was invaded by Hive Fleet Grendyllus during the Fourth Tyrannic War. With the Frigate Pinion Blade under his command, Gaeron defended the Stanghalde System[2b], even after Lord Commander Solar Leontus had ordered every Bastior System, but the Formidyre, Pyremoat and Kastayl to be abandoned[2a]. This continued even when several of Stranghalde's worlds fell to the Tyranids and the vastly outnumbered Imperials in the System had to resort to waging a guerilla war. For Gaeron, though, Stanghalde was still a valuable fight and he was proud of what his Raven Guard had accomplished, which included slaying an impressive tally of Hive Ships, twice aiding other Imperial vessels and defeating several boarding attacks upon the Pinion Blade. However this suddenly changed, when the Frigate's veteran Shipmaster, Uvarin, informed the Shadow Captain that a moon-sized Tyranid craft was in the System. Upon seeing that it was heading towards Formidyre, Gaeron decided to warn the Imperials there before the Tyranid craft invaded it and ordered the Pinion Blade's Navigator, Olgh, to prepare for the warp journey.[2b]
