Prefectus, or Prefect is an Imperial rank .
Adeptus Terra
Prefect is a title given officer or official of the Adeptus Terra. There are three levels in order of seniority, Prefectus Primus, Prefectus Secundus and Prefectus Tertius. These qualifying titles are also sometimes used on their own as a form of informal address.[1]
Other Uses
- The Adeptus Custodes utilize the rank of Prefect. The Prefectorate were senior Shield-Captains during the Great Crusade. The rank of Prefect was conferred on a Shield-Captain as a mark of veterancy and the Emperor's favour.[3]
- The rank of Prefect has been seen amongst the Space Marines of the Great Crusade-era. It was was a rank of the Emperor's Children.[2]
- Used among high-ranking members of the Collegia Titanica, such as the Ordo Sinister.[4]
