The Imperium has launched a blockade of Avalan, with the aid of the Ultramarines' 5th Company, to prevent the Chaos Cult from receiving any reinforcements, which would tip the war in their favour. The Imperial Navy has already shot down the Chaos Strike Cruiser, the Claw of Damnation, which tried to break the blockade, causing it to crash on the planet's surface.[1]
