Kurtz (Princeps)
Kurtz was a Princeps and an ace Warhound Scout in the Legio Astorum Titan Legion, who took part in the Horus Heresy.[1d]
History
The Princeps and his beloved Warhound fought in the Horus Heresy's Battle of Tallarn,[1d] where they were part of the Legio Astorum detachment that was commanded by the Princeps Force Leader Kowley. This detachment aided in defending the Tallarn city Rogsburg,[1b] but their position was later overrun by a massive force of Traitors.[1c] Kurtz survived Rogsburg's fall and he helped in retaking the city, with the aid of additional Imperial forces from space, who were able to make planetfall thanks to his fellow Legio Astorum Princeps Marnoc. Afterwards, Kurtz attended a ceremony that denounced their slain foes and burned their banners, which was conducted by the Ultramarine Lexicanium, Trask. During the ceremony, though, the Princeps scout spat on one of the enemy banners that was being burned. While the Ultramarines that had placed it in the fire remarked that Kurtz was being disrespectful, the Lexicanium said nothing and continued speaking. Kurtz meanwhile ignored them all and left the ceremony to return to his Warhound.[1d]
Trivia
Firepower Issue 1 mentions a Legio Astorum Titan named Dorn's Warhound, but it does not state if this is Kurtz's Imperial Titan.[1b]
