Obelyskane
Obelyskane are empyric beacons in the Black Legion's Arks of Omen, which burn like raging bonfires in the Warp.[1]
Description
They are the infernal inventions of the Daemon Vashtorr and are one of his greatest offerings to Abaddon the Despoiler, after they forged an alliance together. Generated by a freakish engine that melds together flesh, iron and Daemonic essence, each Obelyskane is powered by a Warp-furnace, that is fed with the souls of psykers - a mockery of the Emperor's Astronomican that is not lost upon Abaddon. Though short-ranged, these devices transformed each Ark into a highly visible waypoint within the Warp and allows their accompanying Balefleets to navigate by the Arks' presence. Because of this, the Banefleets are even able to retain their cohesion, while braving the raging Warp Storms of the Great Rift.[1]
