Chinchare, also known as Cinchare is an asteroid locked in a figure-eight orbit around a binary star. It is the fourth planet of the Chinchare System.[2]
Mineral Wealth
Its strange orbital pattern and the close proximity to another star system (Pymbyle) creates extremely unpredictable gravitational fluxes, and as a consequence, the formation of extremely rare minerals.[3] These include ultra-rare metals including Ancylitum and Phorydnum and it had been a miner's plunder-haven for as long as it had been identified.[1]
The only settlement on the world is Cinchare Minehead. A mining and port facility founded in 321.M41. It is currently run by a cartel of Imperial Allied Minerals and Ortog Mining.[3]
History
Once home to a creature of Chaos Formed from the coagulated bodies of pilgrims who had descended into the asteroid to worship a corrupted crystal structure known as the Lith. The creatures was destroyed by Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn and Magos Geard Bure[2] the former while being declared Traitor by the Imperium.[1]
Galactic Migration
Once not far from the Eye of Terror, the System now lies almost at the edge of the Segmentum close to the Halo Stars.[1]
