Indiga is an Imperial Death World, that is known for being the home of giant megafauna predators and for its Indigan Praefects Astra Militarum Regiments.[1b]

Overview

However before its current state, Indiga was once a Menagerie World until disaster struck, during the rule of Imperial Commander Constantine Principa Argoy. He was known for using Indiga's copious mineral wealth to purchase breeding pairs of every dangerous creature he could acquire from worlds across the Ultima Segmentum. They were Argoy's pride and joy, until a catastrophic earthquake struck and shattered the zoos where the animals were kept. This allowed them to escape into the wild, where the creatures bred and hybridized. In time, the resulting giant megafauna turned Indiga into a Man-Made Death World.[2]

Now its population resides in vast mobile settlements, that are constantly on the move to avoid the predators. They are also dependent on their Indigan Praefects for protection and the Regiments have become renowned experts on tracking down and slaying giant dangerous beasts[2]. Despite this, the Indigan Xeno-Safari Tourist Board is used to promote safaris on the Death World to the Imperium. However, the Board's most recent Astropath message was filled with garbled screaming and visions of broken cages.[3]
