Priamus
Priamus was a Space Marine of the Black Templars Chapter who served with Squad Grimaldus.[1a]
Biography
He was one of the younger members of the squad and was regarded by Grimaldus as arrogant, cocky and possessed of an independent streak which could prove dangerous.[1a][1b][1c] He was also boastful of his abilities, to the point that he openly referred to himself as a "blademaster". Despite this, Grimaldus believed that Priamus's skill in combat backed up his words.[1a]
Priamus served under Grimaldus during the Helsreach Crusade.[1a] In the final stages of the siege of Hive Helsreach, he was present with the remainder of Squad Grimaldus during the defence of the Temple of the Emperor Ascendant from the invading orks. There, he witnessed the death of both the Crusade's Champion, Bayard, and his fellow squad member, Bastilan, at the hands of the greenskins. In that instant, Grimaldus appointed Priamus as the last Emperor's Champion of the Helsreach Crusade and commanded him to take up his weapon and continue to fight.[1d] Ultimately, however, Priamus fell later in the battle.[1e]
