Tysen Yacobe
Tysen Yacobe is the Groupmaster of Indomitus Crusade Fleet Sextus' Battle Group Faustus.[1a]
History
During the Fourth Tyrannic War, the Battle Group was among the Imperial forces that were sent to defend the Anchor World Sanctum, after Lord Commander Solar Leontus made it his base of operations. In order to ensure his safety, Faustus' was organized into a dozen task forces, which were then sent to scour Sanctum's Bastior Sub-sector of any foes that could threaten the Lord Commander. At first, Yacobe, thought having Faustus devoted to such a mission was overkill and merely intended for Sector Command to honor and perhaps garner the Lord Commander's favor. This quickly changed, however, when contact was lost with several of his task forces after they entered Bastior's outer Systems. A worried Yacobe quickly informed Leontus and Sector Command of this development, before ordering his Battle Group to reassemble in the Circeyl System. It was as this was occurring, that the remnants of the lost Task Forces III and XI's warships appeared in the System. They had been significantly damaged and their surviving crews gave warning that a previously unknown tendril of Hive Fleet Leviathan had invaded the Bastior Sub-sector. Yacobe then ensured this was known across the Sub-sector and as news spread, the new tendril was named Grendyllus.[1a]
Once Lord Commander Solar Leontus realized the full scale of the invasion, he knew the Imperial forces in the Bastior Sub-sector were not enough to defend it. He would then send out a plea for aid, before ordering the Sub-sector's Imperial forces to retreat from their current positions and reinforce either the Formidyre, Pyremoat or Kastayl Systems, which were named as Sanctuary Systems[1a]. Groupmaster Yacobe was among those who refused to do so, though, and Battle Group Faustus continued to attack Hive Fleet Grendyllus from the Circeyl System. He would also use his warships to gather clearer intelligence on the Hive Fleet's strengths and dispositions. However the Battle Group eventually began to suffer such heavy casualties, that Yacobe was forced to relent in his efforts. Realizing that Faustus now risked being crippled by the Tyranids, the Groupmaster finally ordered a retreat to the Sanctuary Systems. It would not do so as one group, though, as Yacobe split the Battle Group into separate fleets, so that each of the Systems could be reinforced by his remaining warships[1b]. Those under Yacobe's direct command were led to the Formidyre System, where Lord Commander Solar Leontus had made the Anchor World Sanctum his base of operations. Once there, the Groupmaster was given command of the warfleet defending Sanctum's northern hemisphere and he led it to battle, when Hive Fleet Grendyllus attacked the Anchor World.[1c]
