History
Shortly prior to the Second War for Armageddon, Basquit was invaded by an Ork horde. Imperial forces arrived to defend it, including the 252nd Armageddon Steel Legion (accompanied by Commissar Sebastian Yarrick); their efforts, however, were hampered by Overlord Albrecht Meinert, who insisted that the bulk of the Imperial forces should be used to defend the holdings of the planet's aristocracy.[2]
Not long afterwards, Meinert was overthrown and killed in a bloody coup led by Lord Berthold Stratz. Stratz had more military sense than Meinert, and freed Imperial forces from their defensive duties to take the fight to the Orks. The xenos were later defeated.[2]
Although many were satisfied by the Imperial victory on Basquit, Yarrick saw it as a terrible omen of things to come, noting that the Orks had penetrated extremely deep into a strategically crucial sub-sector far from any known Ork Worlds. This coincided with the emergence of a large Warp Storm that threatened to cut the Armageddon System off from the wider Imperium, and the fact that the Orks on Basquit continually chanted a name: Ghazghkull.[2]

Notes
- Note 1: This is the galactic position of Armageddon.[3] Given that Basquit is located in the same sub-sector as Armageddon[1] and the size of a sub-sector relative to the galaxy, Basquit should be in roughly the same position as well.
