The Caskian Campaign was a campaign of the Great Crusade.^[1]

Overview

Fought on the planet Caskian roughly eight years prior to the Horus Heresy, the campaign pitted Imperial forces against an insectoid xenos species (the name and language of which were never learned).^[1]

At one point in the campaign, the 209th Company of the Ultramarines under Captain Honorius Luciel fought alongside a Company of the Word Bearers under Sorot Tchure while defending the tower-city of Hantovania Sebros from the xenos. Over the course of four months of fighting, Luciel and Tchure managed to strike up a friendship; this was despite their two Space Marine Legions having a rather tense relationship, due to the Emperor using the Ultramarines to censure the Word Bearers' lack of adherence to the Imperial Truth by destroying the city of Monarchia.^[1]
