Solypsis is an Industrial World of the Sabbat Worlds Cluster.[1][2]
Contents
History
Solypsis was a key staging ground for the forces of the Sabbat Worlds Crusade when Warmaster Macaroth was preparing for the assault on the Cabal System.[1]
However, matters were complicated by the planet's governor, Gideon. Gideon had grown reclusive and oppressive in the past year, betraying that he had been corrupted by the Archenemy. Macaroth was forced to mobilise the Crusade to pacify Solypsis.[2]
Aftermath
Although the campaign was an overall Imperial victory, the planet was devastated and billions died when the forces of Chaos withdrew. Solypsis's manufacturing capability was practically totally destroyed. Moreover the Inquisition forced Macaroth to garrison Solypsis with his reserve forces, drawing men away from the Crusade proper. Not only did the garrisoning body have to deal with remnants of the Chaos armies, but the planet was also plagued by Hrud infestations for years afterwards.[3]
Gideon himself was captured by members of the Order of the Pious Cross in the Battle of Mawson and is believed to have been turned over to the Inquisition.[3]
