Stefan Hemelschot is a Commodore of the Imperial Navy.[1]
Appointed by Admiral Ram Thoen to command a flotilla in the Acheros Sailent of the Jericho Reach, it is largely due to Hemelschot's efforts that the majority of his fleet remains intact despite a series of punishing battles. He arose from humble beginnings as an Ensign when an Ork boarding attack slaughtered many officers aboard his vessel. He rallied the survivors and managed to drive the Orks off and reclaim the vessel. He has since risen through the ranks, working closely with the Commissariat to keep morale and discipline in his fleet high. At the Second Battle of Vanity in 811.M41 he managed to defeat Stigmartus Heavy Cruisers with a squadron smaller Dauntless Class Light Cruisers with a slingshot pincer maneuver. Hemelschot was obsessed by the possibility of a Blackstone Fortress in orbit around the Chaos Fortress World of Magog. He is also known to engage in dealings with Eldar Rangers such as Syndilian Shanyr, drawing the gaze of the Ordo Xenos.[1]
