Anahk'hir is a Daemon Prince of Nurgle.[1]

History

He was once summoned to the planet Sturmhex Prime by First Captain Roga of the Lords of Decay. Once there, he sought to use the dying star Sturmhex to open a Warp Rift that could form a bridgehead for one of Abaddon the Despoiler's Black Crusades. He was opposed by the entire First Brotherhood of the Grey Knights Chapter, who had travelled to Sturmhex Prime after receiving a warning from their Prognosticars.[1]

Initially, Anahk'hir saw this as an opportunity to exact revenge on the one who banished him back to the Warp. However, the resulting battle went badly for the Daemon and his allies and, to add insult to injury, the individual who banished him previously was not present. Nonetheless, Anahk'hir engaged in a duel with the Brotherhood's Grand Master, Vardan Kai, in an attempt to turn the tide of the battle. Over the course of the duel, Kai attempted to banish the Daemon by invoking Anahk'hir's true name, but was unsuccessful as he had been supplied with false information by Inquisitor Nicodaemus Quixos.[1]

However, Anahk'hir was then attacked by a squadron of Stormraven Gunships, distracting the Daemon Prince, who took to the air to try and bring them down. In the end, the Grey Knights Techmarine Aegir was able to grievously wound Anahk'hir by ramming him with his Stormraven, Kodachi, allowing Grand Master Kai to imprison the Daemon within a tesseract labyrinth. Following Anahk'hir's defeat, the Lords of Decay and their daemonic allies were swiftly defeated and the tesseract was presented to the Inquisitor.[1]

Notes

  • At one point, Vardan Kai names Anahk'hir as Anahk'hir Terrigassimal Yarnick. However, it was revealed that this was not Anahk'hir's true name.[1] Whether it has any other relation to the Daemon Prince is unknown.
