Battle for Hadrak's Folly
The Battle for Hadrak's Folly began when the Tau Empire's Fifth Sphere of Expansion invaded the world Hadrak's Folly in M42.[1]
It began when the Tau Empire attempted to peacefully annex the world, after learning that it was rich in the highly valuable mineral Symanthite. Hadrak's Folly's ruling Council of the Crystal Blade, however, rejected the offer and killed the Tau's diplomatic envoy. The Tau Empire then sought to forcefully take the world, but were unable to dispatch a full invasion force due to their commitment to other war zones in the Chalnath Expanse. This led the Tau to instead wage a guerrilla war with Kroot hunting packs and Pathfinders in an attempt to force the Council to peacefully surrender. Instead the Council sent out numerous distress calls and, though most were swallowed by the Great Rift, one was answered by a ragged Battlefleet that had been lost for years within the Imperium Nihilus. It soon arrived above the world and immediately dispatched a complement of Catachan Jungle Fighters, into Hadrak's Folly's forests. Led by General Morl Rachnor, they have now engaged the Tau's forces in a series of skirmishes, which has delighted the Catachans, as they now have a worthy foe to fight.[1]
