Saint Marduk's Bane, previously known as Colkasth, was a Hive World of the Orpheus Sector.[1]

History

During the Orpheus Revolt in 921.M39, the world became the last bastion of Chaos resistance in the face of an Imperial War of Faith. The Hive World had been fortified into a living hell and its population used as raw materials by the Warpsmiths of the Death Mongers.[1]

The Commander of the War Effort, Arch-Confessor Marduk claimed the final victory for his own zealot and Imperial Guard forces, choosing to instead dispatch the Space Marine and Sorotias allies to destroy other fleeing traitor forces. However, after all contact was lost with the Ecclesiarchy forces, the Angels Revenant Strike Cruiser Intercessor rushed to investigate, only to be attacked by two small xenos craft of unknown origin (likely Necrons). Destroying one attacker and driving the other off, the Space Marine vessel was badly damaged but nonetheless found that the entire world of Colkasth had been reduced to a radioactive wreck. The Angels Revenant discovered a few catatonic survivors on the planet. The Dead World of Colkasth is forever afterwards named Saint Marduk's Bane, after the "martyred" Arch-Confessor himself.[1]
