Vaxanide is a Hive World in the Malfian Sub-Sector, Calixis Sector.
Vaxanide is a poorly supplied, desperate world that sits at the edge of the Calixis Sector struggling to enter the "inner circle" of sector planets. Lawlessness prevails in the frontiers outside Hive Vaxanhive.[2]

History
Vaxanide has been besieged at least twice in its history. The First Siege of Vaxanide occurred in 410-412.M41 by an Ork raider fleet. The Second Siege of Vaxanide was in 507.M41 this time by Orks aboard the Space Hulk Pinnacle of Savagery. Both times Battlefleet Calixis drove away the invaders.[4]
Recently, Lord Givale Vaxanide, a lesser noble of House Vaxanide, sponsored several expeditions to the equatorial jungles to uncover what he believed to be a ancient cathedral based on archeoexcavations on the outskirts of a dangerous jungle region on Vaxanide.[3]
Geography
Equatorial jungles and canyons.[2] Some are described as deadly slime jungles.[4]
Politics
The Planetary Governor is Lord Vaxanide, scion from noble House Vaxanide, which has holdings on Scintilla, Malfi and Regulus as well.[2]
Adepta Sororitas Abbey of Divine Judgment, run by the Order of the Valorous Heart was nearly destroyed by Ork Warboss Gurdok Ironclaw and his Kult of Speed motorized unit during the Second Siege of Vaxanide.[7]
Religion
A Shrine to Saint Drusus can be found on the world.[2]
The Pilgrims of Hayte operated on the world, even corrupting a Judge of the Adeptus Arbites with a daemon-infested artifact called the Mace of Judgment. While the officer, Mielira the Bloody, was eliminated by the Inquisition, the artifact has yet to be recovered.[5]
Economy
Vaxanide is especially famous for its porcelain, glass and fishery products.[2] The Martaxus Combine is a Commercia shipping and trading company based on Vaxanide with scattered holding in the Malfian Sub-Sector and a considerable mercantile fleet.[6]
Connection to Other Worlds
Stable warp routes exist from Vaxanide to Malfi, Ganf Magna and Kalf.[1]
