Rakishio was a Captain in the Emperor's Children Legion, during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy.[1]

History

Deemed to be too loyal to the Emperor, Rakishio was was among the Emperor's Children that were marked for death in the Battle of Isstvan III as the Horus Heresy began. However he and a number of other Loyalist Emperor's Children escaped from Isstvan III aboard the Daggerline, which had been commandeered by Loyalist World Eaters led by Captain Macer Varren. Together they would begin to make their way to Terra to warn the Imperium of Warmaster Horus' betrayal. The Daggerline was heavily damaged in its escape, though, and so was not able to stay in the Warp for long. This led the warship to gather a fleet of ships fleeing the Horus Heresy and also gather up the White Scars led by Captain Hakeem, which had been separated from their Legion. Once the Daggerline and its fleet reached Terra's Sol System, however, Rakishio and Varren would find it to be on high alert. Unbeknownst to them, the Loyalist Death Guard Nathaniel Garro had also escaped from Isstvan III and had already warned the Imperium of what occurred there. Because of this, no ships could enter until their loyalty could be determined and so the Daggerline and its fleet were watched over by numerous warships.[1]

Eventually the Daggerline was boarded by the Death Guard Nathaniel Garro and the Ultramarine Librarian Tylos Rubio, who were now both Knights-Errant of Malcador the Sigillite. They were led by the Adeptus Custodes Khorarinn who would determine the loyalty of the Daggerline's crew. Khorarinn however, held the traitorous actions of Rakishio and Varren's Legions, and the harsh Custodes did not believe their tales of escape and continued loyalty. He did listen to Hakeem though and was more willing to listen to the White Scar. This proved to be disastrous, as Hakeem was secretly loyal to Warmaster Horus and he used Khorarinn's distaste to his advantage. On his orders, a group of his White Scars boarded and then attacked one of the ships within the Daggerline's fleet. One of Hakeem's Techmarines would then fake a holo-capture that implicated Rakishio and his Emperor's Children in the attack. This led an enraged Khorarinn to place them under arrest, despite Rakishio proclaiming their innocence and made ready to fight against their would be captors. However Varren did not want bloodshed to erupt and pleaded with Rakishio to stand down and he promised to find the truth of what really happened. Due to their shared bond, which had been forged since their escape from Isstvan III, Rakishio agreed and the Emperor's Children gave in to Khorarinn's demands. As the Custodes fully trusted Hakeem and his White Scars, Khorarinn asked them for their aid in binding and then escorting the Emperor's Children to the Daggerline's brig for questioning.[1]

Before that confrontation had occurred, however, Rubio's psychic abilities had led to search for a dark presence he felt aboard the Daggerline. This had been the same presence the Librarian had felt, while investigating the ship that had been attacked. His senses led him to search Hakeem's belongings, where he found a hidden Warrior Lodge medallion. Knowing this might signal that the White Scars Captain was in league with the traitorous Warmaster, Rubio quickly contacted Garro. This was shortly after Rakishio and his forces had been placed under arrest, however, and once Garro saw Hakeem's medallion, he tried to warn the Emperor's Children and Khorarinn via their Voxes. Upon hearing Garro's message, though, Hakeem gave his White Scars the order to execute the bound Emperor's Children. As his Legionaries began to die around him, Rakishio desperately tried to take a weapon from one of the White Scars, but was shot multiple times by Hakeem. Though he was left severely wounded, Rakishio still tried to fight, but had his life ended, when Hakeem cut his throat open. The rest of the Loyalist Emperor's Children were killed as well and a disbelieving Khorarinn joined them in death, shortly afterwards. With their allegiance to Warmaster Horus now known, Hakeem then ordrerd his White Scars to kill the others aboard the Daggerline.[1]
