He is unsure of worthiness however, and is afraid to fail towards the battle-brothers of his company. His friend, Veteran Sergeant Pasanius tries to re-assure him but there is a sense of unease in the company. The blood and ideals of Roboute Guilliman are much alive in the Ultramarines as they must crush an alien foe which is a skilled as it is cruel in its raids. The suffering planet Pavonis is upon the brink of civil war as ruthless traitors and opportunists try to take advantage of the situation. But all these woes are nothing compared to an ancient horror that lies dormant beneath the planet, and has slept millions of years. The C'tan Nightbringer is soon to be awakened and is hungry for souls.
In Warriors of Ultramar Captain Uriel Ventris and the Ultramarines, asked to honour an ancient debt, find themselves standing shoulder to shoulder with brother Space Marines of the Mortifactors Chapter and units of the Imperial Guard, defending the planet Tarsis Ultra from the oncoming threat of the tyranid Hive Fleet Leviathan.
In Dead Sky Black Sun Captain Uriel Ventris and Sergeant Pasanius for not adhering to the Codex Astartes and using unorthodox and extreme measures during the events on Tarsis Ultra have been sent on a Death Oath by Marneus Calgar but during transit they are taken captive by a Daemon know only as the Omphalos Daemonium and are then transported to the Iron Warriors Homeworld Medrengard and being tasked to find an object known as the Heart of Blood during this ardous task, the pair come across Renegade Space Marines and witness an ongoing siege on an Iron Warrior' Fortress and find out how the Iron Warrior's spawn their Space Marines...
In The Killing Ground, Ventris, Pasanius and the Unfleshed find themselves apparently stranded on the world of Salinas; their presence seemingly fanning the flames of a local rebellion into a heretical fire that threatens to consume everything and everyone. The warrior brothers must fight one more time before being able to return to Macragge, but this is a conflict where sympathies are divided and it isn't quite so easy to see who stands among the righteous.
