Tolkhan is an Imperial Forge World that is home to the Titan Legion Legio Pallidus Mor.[1] It is also the Sector Capital of the Khaldun Sector[4] and a vassal world of the Gryphonnen Octad as well.[3b]

Description

Tolkhan is a gravitationally locked planet, with one side permanently facing its star and the other the void. The starfacing side is covered in photovoltaic fields built to harvest the energy of the star and feed the massive underground cities and forges of the world. The voidfacing side of the planet has a large number of dockyards in stationary orbit. Subterranean cities and forges wormed through the rocky mantle of the planet's mantle for miles, wrapping about the circumference of the planet dozens of times over. The planet had been lifeless long before any human colonization.[3a]

The planet has a unusually high mutation rate and large number of psykers are born there. The forge world is known to be proficient in psy-collars and other forms of immaterial restraints.[3a]

History

Adeptus Mechanicus colonists from Mars discovered the Khaldun Sector, some eight hundred years into the first exodus, along with their accompanying Titan Legion Legio Pallidus Mors. They would later claim the Sector for the Imperium and Tolkhan was established as the colonists' Forge World. The Knight Worlds Agarost, Avalath, Calmarin, Eryx, Talmanos and Zarel, have since been sworn to Tolkhan's service and they surround the Forge World's relative position within the Khaldun Sector.[4]

During the War for the Khaldun Sector, only Tolkhan and the Agri World Celetin remained fully in the Imperium's control, after the Sector was invaded by the Craftworld Riellen.[4]

Gryphonnen Diaspora

Following the destruction of Gryphonne IV and the Gryphonnen Octad, the forge-synod of Gryphonne IV would re-establish itself on Tolkhan.[2]

In the 6 Terran years since the fall of the Octad, the Gryphonnen diaspora fleet's vessels still far outnumbered those of their Tolkhanite hosts.[3a] Tolkhan's Fabricator General has been deeply reluctant to allow more than a handful of Gryphonnen magi to make planetfall and escape the squalor of the diaspora fleet. Many of the refugees bemoan these ongoing negotiations between the forge-synod and Tolkhan's Fabricator General to allow more planetside.[3b]
