The Murderval is a warband of Chaos Daemons made up of Daemons from all four Chaos gods.[1]

History

Sssair Gleamling

Slaanesh, hungering the most for the souls of the Eldar, wished to attack the Eldar world of Lohiac in order to gain control of a webway gateway, and so he collected a grand army of Daemons from all four Chaos gods and also bargained gifts and worlds with his fellow gods to ensure their cooperation in the attack. Four Eldar Craftworlds bonded together to defend the webway gateway and the war lasted for several years. As the Daemons closed in on their prize it was protected by three mighty Avatars, but Beasts of Nurgle known as the Mouldkin mired the Avatars and allowed Sssair Gleamling, the Keeper of Secrets in charge of the Murderval, to destroy them all.[1]

The Daemons would have succeed in gaining access to the webway if it weren't for the sudden arrival of Dark Eldar troops lead by Harlequins. The new forces tied up the Daemons long enough for the Eldar Seer Council to seal the webway portal permanently and so keep it from Slaanesh.[1]

Corflich Loatheheart

Following the defeat of the Murderval at Lohiac, Corflich Loatheheart sought to become the new master of the Murderval and so tricked Sssair into giving him control by promising that he would return it once it had claimed its millionth soul for Tzeentch. Sssair agreed but then found himself imprisoned within the Impossible Fortress, and the Murderval fell fully under Loatheheart's rule.[2]

Loathehearts first act was to eradicate the population of the Agri World Dortun in three nights of bloodshed and debauchery. Next he kidnapped three hundred Fire Warriors from the Tau Sept world of Vior'la and deposited them within the Garden of Nurgle to be left to their own fates.[2]

Grandest of all his schemes was his vengeance upon the survivors of the battle of Lohiac. Loatheheart set a trap at the Death World of Raith by slaughtering its Imperial Guard garrison and waiting for a Dark Eldar raid to arrive. The Dark Eldar quickly sensed a trap and turned to depart but found their escape blocked by the Murderval. Scores of Dark Eldar were dragged screaming into the Warp and their Archon was run to ground and captured by Loatheheart within Raith's thick jungle. Loatheheart then proceeded to break both the Archon's arms and legs and gift her helpless body to Slaanesh's Palace of Pleasure as a tribute from the new master of the Murderval.[2]
