Axandrian Incident
The Axandrian Incident occurred during the Horus Heresy in 012.M31, when the Thousand Sons launched an invasion on the Imperial world Axandria IV.[1]
History
It was once part of the Thousand Sons' Prosperan Realm, before the Imperium declared the Legion to be Traitors. In the aftermath of the Burning of Prospero, some of the Thousand Sons' forbidden knowledge was rescued and stored on data-cores, that were taken to Axandria IV. They were then secured in the world's single great pyramid structure. Axandria IV was also heavily fortified and garrisoned by the Imperial Fists and elements of the Legio Custodes. Despite this, when the Thousand Sons struck, their psychic auguries allowed them to bypass the world's outer defences and teleport directly into its pyramid. A savage fight then erupted, as the elite Scarab Occult Terminators led the attack against the Imperial Fists and Custodians. As they clashed amid the pyramid's dark corridors and library vaults, the Thousand Sons' Sorcerers also let loose their psychic powers. They unleashed such an onslaught, that the Loyalists were forced to retreat to Axandria IV's surface. Before a counter-attack could be launched, however, the Thousand Sons teleported back to their fleet and escaped. The Traitors had achieved their goal, though, of retrieving the pyramid's data-cores, that contained their forbidden knowledge.[1]
