The Commorragh Raid, the Salamanders Strike Cruiser Forgehammer was disabled and transported to Commorragh. In retaliation the Salamanders, Howling Griffons, and Silver Skulls invaded Commorragh rescuing the Strike Cruiser and destroying nearly all of the noble houses of the Dark City. A power vaccuum emerged that was only filled by Asdrubael Vect and his Kabal of the Black Heart.[2]

An Explorator Fleet out of Triplex Phall discovers the Tiamet System. All seven planets support life that is aggressively carnivorous, hostile to human explorers, and appears to share a single intelligence. The explorators are forced to quarantine themselves to prevent Tiamet's lifeforms from leaving the system, transmitting data for one hundred sixty-two hours before succumbing to Tiamet's ecosystem.[3]

The Ork Warlord Arrgard the Defiler overruns the Tigrus Forge World, destroying the original designs for the Leman Russ Vanquisher.[4]

The Moirae Schism, concurrent with the Nova Terra Interregnum, splits the Adeptus Mechanicus and closely-associated Titan Legions and Space Marine Chapters. The Raukaan Clan of the Iron Hands remains unified in doctrine. The Martian fleet destroys Moirae forge world to purge its heretical doctrines, which will take over two thousand years to complete.[5][6][7]

Hundreds are slain, several strike cruisers are destroyed, and much of the fortress-monastery is destroyed before the renegades are driven off.
