Plot Summary
The newly-founded Raven Guard Raptors discover a derelict ship belonging to the Space Wolves Legion. On board they discover the bodies of bestial Wulfen, Space Wolves gone feral due to a defect in their gene-seed. Tracking a squad of Wulfen to an abandoned planet in a dead system, Raptor Sergeant Navar Hef and his squad of mutated but loyal Raven Guard find the Wulfen under siege by Sons of Horus and learn that they were on a mission to find Corax and assess his loyalty on the orders of Malcador. Fearing that completion of the Space Wolves' mission would mean censure for Corax due to his creation of the Raptors, Hef helps the Wulfen fight their way free but then kills the survivors, preserving his primarch's secret at the cost of loyalists spilling loyalist blood.[1]
