The Wings of the Phoenician were the elite Assault Companies of the Emperor's Children Legion during the Great Crusade.^[1]

Highly revered in an already celebrated Legion, nearly all of its members were purged by the traitors during the Battle of Isstvan III. The few who were not turned inwards towards themselves, becoming a bestial and insular brotherhood that isolated themselves from the rest of the Emperor's Children. In the ten thousand years since the Heresy, they have been heavily corrupted by Slaanesh and the Eye of Terror. Many have joined the Rypax Raptor Cult.^[1]
